Giveaway!

A Baltic amber giveaway (baby not included)!

Update: This giveaway is now closed!  Congratulations to reader Sarah who chose the Lemondrop necklace as her prize!

Thanks to all of you loyal readers, this website keeps growing and growing, which means it’s time for another giveaway!  I’m proud to offer one of my favorite products as our latest giveaway, a Baltic amber necklace from Hazelaid!

What’s so great about an amber necklace, you ask?  Well, let me tell you.

A Testimonial

A year ago, I was introduced to the Hazelaid company.  A friend of mine recommended their Baltic amber and hazelwood products, which she said had incredible healing properties.  I read everything on their site, including the following description of Baltic amber:

“Amber is not a “stone” but a natural resin.  So as it warms with the body’s natural temperature, amber releases its healing oils (these oils contain succinic acid) which are readily absorbed into the skin and then into the bloodstream. Baltic Amber has some of the highest concentrations of succinic acid found in nature, and this is what makes it so special. Succinic acid is a natural component of plant and animal tissues, and its presence in the human body is beneficial in many ways.

Commonly known as “teething jewelry” in Europe, Baltic amber has been a natural remedy for pain relief for hundreds of years. Baltic amber is a natural analgesic that will help relieve headaches, reduce inflammation of the throat, ear and stomach and fight irritations, infections and respiratory diseases as it dramatically improves the body’s immunity. Many adults report improvement of arthritis discomfort and carpal tunnel pain in their hands when wearing amber on the wrists.”

I then bought two items, hoping they would help with some of my life-long health issues including inflammation, joint pain, and a chronically weak immune system.

But I was skeptical.  How could tree sap and bark help?   I’ve been dealing with these issues for so long, I couldn’t believe anything so simple could help.

I received my order very quickly, put on the products, and waited.  I was stunned—simply stunned—at how the products began to work and my life changed.  It sounds dramatic, but when you deal with chronic health issues, and they suddenly go away, you can’t help but be amazed!   Here are the changes I experienced:

  • Since I was a child, I have experienced chronic pain in my limbs due to the way I grew.  I used to have to take medication every night just to sleep, and often more during the night because the pain would wake me up.  Since wearing the necklace, I have been able to completely cut out all pain medication!   I have not been able to do this in years.
  • My immune system has never been stronger.  I am the kind of person who used to get sick all the time.  Since wearing the Hazelaid products, I have only gotten two colds this year.  This is a miracle for me!  I didn’t even get the flu that my kids caught.  Usually, I’m the one who brings it home in the first place!
  • My menstrual cramps have virtually disappeared (male readers, you have my apologies!).  I did not expect this to happen, as it’s not something Hazelaid talks about on their site.  I have always suffered from extremely painful cramps during my period.  I live on Advil, and if I don’t take 3 at a time, I can’t function.  I sleep with Advil beside the bed because the pain wakes me up.  My menstrual cycle has always been a huge source of stress and frustration for me because of this.  I feel like once a month, I have to enter a long, dark, painful tunnel.  I was astonished when the natural pain relief in the necklace was powerful enough to combat even my menstrual pain.  I now take, at most, 2 Advil the entire duration of my cycle.  It’s absolutely incredible!

I  have become such a believer in the power of Baltic amber that I contacted Hazelaid and asked if I could give away one of their products.  They were gracious enough to give me a discount so I could order two necklaces.  I chose the strongest, most powerful necklaces they have!  The winner gets to choose their prize, either 16” Super Butter Baltic amber necklace or an 18”Lemondrop necklace.

The Super Butter amber necklace has the highest succinic acid content.

The Lemondrop necklace also has a very high succinic acid content, but the more neutral color might work better with your wardrobe!

How do you win one?

The contest is open to all of my readers around the world!  Simply leave a comment below and the winner will be chosen at random at 4 pm PST on Sunday, April 29, 2011.  Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery.

A discount for everyone!

I wish I could give everyone a necklace to try, but since I can’t, Hazelaid has graciously offered a 10% discount for all my readers!

Simply shop online and enter code tow10 at checkout.  This code has no limitations and no expiration, so feel free to share it!

Thank you all for your continued support!

I bought a baltic amber necklace from Hazelaid last Fall when my 2 year old started getting her molars and am a believer! I have convinced about 5 other people to buy them for their children and they are spreading the amber love too. I never thought about wearing one myself. It would be cool to win it and try!

I would love to win this! Thanks so much for the giveaway and thanks even more for your amazing blog! I stumbled upon a link to one of your blog posts (How to Get Your Toddler to Eat Anything) on FB one day and after reading a couple posts I signed right up for emails. You write so well and I just love reading all your posts and ideas that you have to share with us! You always make me smile and laugh :)

Wow, how cool!! I have heard of these before, but only vaguely. I REALLY want to give these a try now…I’ve had chronic headaches for years. Not quite “bad enough” to qualify as migraines, but debilitating and frustrating nonetheless. Maybe these necklaces would help!

We love your blog. I had no idea these were beneficial for adults too! I may have to pick one up and see if it helps with chronic migraine. Our sweet girl just entered the teething phase and it is pretty miserable. What a wonderful product.

We tried an amber necklace for a shop on etsy for our 2 year old when his molars came in. He has drooled for life and it helped a ton, but really decreased his pain. SOOO fantastic to not have to give him ibuprofen so much. Sadly it broke and although I tried to fix it, it doesn’t seem to have the same effect. :( This brand look likes high quality and I’d love to try. And super interested in the adult testimonials…I had no idea it was so helpful to big babies, too. :) Thanks for all the parenting fun, help, and encouragement you share!!!

I love your blog! It’s very human and I love that. Funny, this is the third time this amber necklace has appeared in my little world over the past week. Must be a sign! My sweet 7 month old is teething like crazy, working on the top two. Maybe this is exactly what we need. :)

I, too, love reading your blog. As a mother of 7 (4 of which are 5 and below), I am inspired and encouraged by your writing. If I may, I would like to recommend a book for you in regards to the symptoms you mentioned on your give away post. Dr. Steven Hotze of the Hotze Health and Wellness Center has written a book that I think you will find fascinating. It’s called Hormones, Health, and Happiness. I have watched my cousin go from a life of pain and fatigue (spending most of the time in bed due to her symptoms) to being a vibrant, energetic woman again after being treated by Dr. Hotze.

I really love your posts. They help to give me some perspective that is sometimes lacking in day-to-day life. As the oldest of nine who lives far away from my younger siblings (the youngest of whom is nine), it also helps me to remember the fun, though crazy, things that happened as I was growing up.

I do have to admit that the post about your broken ankle really hit home as over Christmas break (while I was at home with my parents and siblings) I fell (slipped on wrapping paper and tried to catch my balance on the tape dispenser) and snapped something. I spent the rest of my vacation (and an extra week) with my parents and siblings waiting on my hand and foot. I was overwhelmed with gratitude for their love, but I did have to admit to feeling useless when my plans for my vacation had included easing THEIR burdens instead of adding to them. Still as I reflected on my injury, I felt God telling me that this was an opportunity for me to feel His love through my family.

It was nice when I read your post to realize that I’m not the only one learning such lessons from a loving Heavenly Father.

Also, as a sufferer of chronic pain in the form of migraines, it would be great to try this!

Why haven’t i heard about this before??! My eldest will be 14 on Saturday.I will definitely need to try this…. much better than all the drugs I’m currently taking ;) Thank you so much for this – anything is worth a try! xx

I got one of these for my youngest and LOVE it…I would love to have one for myself. Also, my toddler has sensitive skin and anxiety problems…any thoughts as to whether one of their products could help him? I’m refusing to put him on anti-anxiety meds as he’s such a happy and sweet boy and I don’t want to pump him full of drugs. I’d rather teach him other ways of coping with his nerves if I can.

Natural is often best when it comes to health. And amber sounds really amazing. I’ve never worn it but my brother and sister-in-law got an amber necklace for my niece’s teething problems and I think it helped.

When I was scrolling down the page to leave a comment, I saw you mentioned an interest in homeopathy. It definitely works no matter what the scientists say; I was brought up with it and my mother has used it (with success) for over 30 years. :)

I have Fibromyalisia. (Spelling isn’t right there) I have chronic pain most of the time through out my entire body. Some days it gets so bad I just want to die. If this resin works as good as you say it does, honey…whether I win one or not I will be purchasing one. I also have arthritis in both hands, all my fingers, wrists and so on. I am curious though, I have a lot of pain in my neck that usually goes into a very bad neck and head ache a couple times a week. I wonder if once I start wearing the necklace, if that pain too will go away! I have been doing more homeopathic medicine and cures. If this works You won’t be able to stop me from telling the world! REALLY!!! I love your blogg and now this new info, you really touch my heart, more times then I can say. Thanks a Fan in Micgigan!

So glad you brought this website to my attention! I’m expecting my fifth baby and have noticed three small red itchy spots that appeared out of no-where on my skin. One on my neck and two on my belly. I’m not sure what it is or what caused it. Golden Salve keeps them from itching, but nothing seems to make it go away. I’m anxious to see if this will help! :) Thanks again!

I love your writing and have been following along……when I get the chance…..ever since. While I would love to win one of those amazing necklaces, I would ask you to consider my friend who introduced me to your sight. Her name is Tammy Barclay, she is a homeschooling Mom of 6 who is my Brie. :) I am not sure that she would even have time right now to enter as her father recently passed away and she needed to be away from home for a month, with her 6 in tow, to deal with her fathers affairs. So, please, consider my entry as hers should u draw my name.
